Annual Report 2009

Dear Friends of Global Share, Greetings!

Last year was marked by some life changes among us. My term as Pastor of Central Presbyterian Church on Park Avenue came to an end on June 30, but I continue to be President of the foundation. Marie Luarca-Reyes, our Executive Director retired from Citigroup and temporarily took up residence in South Africa. She continues to monitor the affairs of Global Share from overseas. Our Treasurer, Esmeralda O. Lyn also continues to attend to the foundation's fund management. Your continued support afforded us to add two projects in Africa to our list of beneficiaries: the Adult Leadership Training in Mazabuka, Zambia, and Orphan education program of the Good Shepherd in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Continuing support went to the piggery farm project in Ecuador, children and vocational education in Nicaragua and Afghanistan, academic scholarships in the Philippines, and health care assistance in Afghanistan and Nicaragua.

The 2008 global economic difficulties prohibited us from continuing to support the other projects in Guatemala, Madagascar and Haiti. This simply means we will exert greater effort in the coming year to accommodate other worthy projects.

Thank you!
