Quick Jump: who we help how we get involved - how we help

The Global ShareResource Foundation assists poor communities affected by economic and social dislocations caused either by:

  • natural calamities
  • civil wars or local conflicts resulting from poorly managed transitions to democracy
  • inequitable distribution of land and wealth from rural or feudal social system
  • man-made policies adopting new technologies without regard to environmental and traditional ways of life and without insurance mechanism for livelihood security

How we get involved:

The Global ShareResource Foundation partners with established organizations engaged in community-based efforts geared towards building the economic potential of small villages. This partnership covers a time span that will afford the projects to be self-sustaining.

Primary involvement of GSRF is oriented towards education and skills training. This means:

  • Identifying the necessary literacy and skills training or upgrading needed to make/build specific physical structures (e.g., schoolhouse, water wells, etc.) necessary in the community’s re-building effort. Further on the acquired knowledge/skills can be applied for gainful employment.
  • Providing the tools, equipment, materials and other implements essential to for learning and conduct training.
  • Evaluating the local instructors/engineers recruited and remunerated to provide the training.

How we help:

  • Source grants and donations to fund specific projects.
  • Form alliances with similar nonprofit agencies to extend related services.
  • Ensure permanence of projects through, partnership with US-based small businesses and tie-up with local educational institutions to accredit acquired education/training.
  • Hold public seminars/forum to stimulate the support and involvement of professionals in the Greater New York Area.
  • Participate in international dialogue involving the ethical, cultural, political and technological issues in alleviating global poverty.
